Boxing star Floyd Mayweather Jr. bashed Knicks sensation Jeremy Lin this week on his twitter account.
Mayweather posted on Monday: “Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he’s Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don’t get the same praise.”
A lot of people, justifiably, aren’t happy about Mayweather’s opinion/tweet, much the same way people weren’t happy with similar statements made by Isiah Thomas toward Larry Bird back in the day.
This stuff doesn’t bother me because I consider the source. Mayweather’s always been an obnoxious trash talker, he sucker punched his last opponent to get a KO and, oh by the way, he was recently sentenced to 90 days in jail for beating up the mother of his children.
So the question is, should we really care what Mayweather thinks?
