A look at the week ahead

With each week in the spring sports season, games start to mean a little more. And as long as the good weather holds up, the region should have some pretty fun matchups in this coming week. Here’s a look at some of the highlights for each day this week.

Monday

In NWC baseball action, Allen East is at LCC while in softball Columbus Grove travels to Crestview.

 Tuesday

Shawnee and Bath battle in both softball and baseball in key WBL games.

Wednesday

Nonleague action highlights the day. In baseball, Shawnee travels to LCC. In softball, Bath is at Crestview in a showdown of two of the top teams in the region.

Thursday

In a key NWC softball game, conference leading Crestview heads to second-place Ada.

Friday

In WBL baseball, Ottawa-Glandorf is at Elida and St. Marys is at Wapakoneta. In WBL softball, Shawnee is at Celina while Kenton travels to Bath. And in track, Shawnee will have its home invitational, featuring many area teams.

Saturday

The highlight of this day will be Perry’s baseball program taking on Allen East in a game that will feature a special dedication. Stay tuned to the Lima News for more information on this event.
